I have chosen Blogger for my web presence creations because of its user friendly outline and i have used it before. The presentation template that i have chosen is simple and precise with a dark colour background suitable for the theme of my content, information about the Rugby sport.
The upgrade of Web 2.0 from the traditional Web 1.0 has changes the course of Internet usage. Web 1.0 was simple, designed for low bandwidth and had a static page layout sufficient for a 56 kilobytes per second connection. Web 2.0 enables creativity to be put on web pages to make it look more exciting and interesting to read. It also enables one website to link to another.
The contributing nodes that i have chosen for my blog is the two big names in the social networking sites list, which are Facebook and Twitter. Social networking sites enables individuals to make visible their profile and social networks (Ellison, 2008). I have also included several other contributing nodes such as Del.icio.us and Google bookmarks. Knowing well that websites could be interlinked with other websites, these contributing nodes allows readers to share the content of my website to their own profile with just a single touch of a button.
I have learned the usage of RSS feed when engaging in this class and also the usage of blog rolls as in linking my blog to my friends blogs. Twitter is widely used by Internet users nowadays due to the fact that it is also a blog site but it operates on a different idea, which is microblogging. Thus, those are the reasons why i chose to highlight and include twitter and Facebook the main contributing nodes.
It will be good if you can explain more on your three contributing nodes and how do you choose them.
